This was my first read by TL Smith, and what really pulled me in to this story was the blurb, the hint of darkness and betrayal. Some people just have no luck at all, and it would seem that Milanka is one of those people, from her very bad childhood and then everything that follows really has you wondering how she is still going. Milanka does things a bit different, and until she meets a stranger in the coffee shop, she has no issues with the way things are. Connick is different from what Milanka normally goes for, and the fact that days later she is still thinking of him, is definitely not her style. There is more to Connick than Milanka would ever guess, but she doesn't heed anyone's warnings, Will she regret this in the end?

I wasn't quite sure what to think of this story when I first started. The writing felt a bit choppy, there wasn't really what one would call a flowing story, it took me a bit to really get into this, but when I did, it wasn't bad. With some steamy sexy times, some drama, and.... well lots of other stuff going on, I give this 3.75 stars.
